Funds slashed for Jamia & AMU, raised for BHU: Govt in Parliament

Funds allocated to Jamia Millia Islamia were reduced by ₹68.73 crore and Aligarh Muslim University by ₹306 crore in FY 2021-22 as compared to the previous fiscal, the government said in Parliament. According to MoS Education Subhas Sarkar, Banaras Hindu University was allocated ₹1,303.01 crore in FY 2021-22, almost double from ₹669.51 crore in FY 2014-15.
