Twitter's rival platform Mastodon in a tweet said, "The future of social media doesn't have to belong to a billionaire, it can be in the hands of its users." Mastodon, which is increasingly being used by people after Twitter's acquisition by Elon Musk, just passed over 2 million active monthly users, setting a new record for the company.
