Gadag-Yalavigi rail project stuck over land acquisition

The Gadag-Shirahatti-Yalavigi Railway Line Protest Committee has urged the Karnataka government to speed up land acquisition for the long-pending project. Committee members said approval was announced in the 2021-22 Budget, but the process has not yet begun. They submitted a memorandum to Chairman GS Patil, seeking fair compensation for landowners.
