Gadkari pushes biofuels to cut India's ₹22 lakh crore import bill

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari urged agricultural diversification toward biofuels at KPMG's Enrich 2026 forum, highlighting ethanol, CBG, and green hydrogen to cut fossil fuel imports worth ₹22 lakh crore. He noted 3,000 biogas plants under Gobardhan, E20 adoption across 24 crore vehicles, and India's hydrogen export order of 5 lakh tonnes.
