GAIL suspends marketing director after CBI arrest over ₹50-lakh bribe

GAIL on Wednesday confirmed the suspension of its Director (Marketing) ES Ranganathan following his arrest by the CBI over allegedly taking a ₹50-lakh bribe to give discounts on petrochemical products to private companies. CBI also searched Ranganathan's Noida residence and his office. Ranganathan was appointed Director (Marketing) of GAIL in July 2020 and was to retire in May 2023.
