Gairsain declared new summer capital of Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya on Monday gave assent to declaring Gairsain (also known as Bhararisain) in Chamoli district as the new summer capital of the state. CM Trivendra Singh Rawat had first made the announcement of the summer capital on March 4. He announced it after his budget speech during the Vidhan Sabha session held in Gairsain.
