Sitanshu Kotak's appointment as batting coach came on India head coach Gautam Gambhir's request during a BCCI review meeting, according to a report. The BCCI felt the need to add a specialist batting coach following an underwhelming performance from the unit during the New Zealand series and the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the report said. Kotak is known for his strong technique.
