Gambhir reveals why India benched Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for entire Afghanistan series

India head coach Gautam Gambhir said Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was left out of the playing XI in Afghanistan T20I series because Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma earned backing through sustained performances. Gambhir said someone who has performed for two to three years will stay ahead of a newcomer. He added 15-year-old Sooryavanshi must wait, but will get longer run when picked.
