Gandhi Peace Prize awarded to 100-yr-old Gita Press by PM Modi-led jury

UP-based Gita Press, which publishes Hindu religious texts, has been awarded the Gandhi Peace Prize 2021, the government said on Sunday. PM Narendra Modi headed the jury that decided the recipient of the award, which carries a ₹1 crore cash prize. The 100-year-old publisher has been honoured for "promoting the Gandhian ideals of peace and social harmony", the government said.
