Ganesh idol hub in Maha hit by floods ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi

Maharashtra floods have hit Pen in Raigad district, a global hub for handcrafted Ganesh idols, damaging over 3 lakh idols and washing away materials and tools ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi. The idols made here are sent across several states and even abroad to US, UK, Mauritius and other places. Over a dozen villages in Pen completely depend on idol making.
