Gangster Arun Gawli's Dagdi Chawl in Mumbai to be redeveloped

Gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli's fortress Dagdi Chawl in Byculla will be redeveloped into two 40-storey residential buildings, an official said on Friday. This comes after the proposal for the redevelopment of the cessed building, sent by the landlord, was approved by the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA). The chawl currently has more than 350 tenants.
