Gangwar, who has been appointed Higher Education Secy, was named in family subsidy controversy

IAS officer Naresh Pal Gangwar, who has taken charge as the new Higher Education Secretary, faced allegations over family-linked horticulture subsidies during his previous posting. A report by The Indian Express stated that Gangwar's mother, wife and son were beneficiaries of subsidies under the National Horticulture Board's (NHB) Protected Cultivation Scheme and received around ₹1.16 crore.
