Garbage bag sales increase 5-fold in South Korea, govt urges calm

South Korea urged people to remain calm after panic buying of plastic garbage bags in Seoul led to a nearly fivefold surge in demand amid the Middle East war. City authorities said daily sales rose to about 2.7 million bags last week. "There is no need to worry about the supply of standard garbage bags," Energy Minister Kim Sung-whan said.
