According to a four-minute video, everyone on the Miyake island in Japan is required to carry a gas mask at all times, owing to the presence of toxic gases. The island houses an active volcano which released highly toxic sulphur dioxide during its previous eruption. Though the gases have reduced over time, people are always advised to wear a mask.
