Gas supply boost raises urea output 23% before Kharif 2026

The government has boosted natural gas supply to urea plants, raising domestic urea production by 23% ahead of the Kharif 2026 season, the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers said. Gas supply increased from 32 to 39.31 MMSCMD, improving plant efficiency and stocks, while DAP inventory more than doubled, ensuring steady fertiliser availability for farmers.
