Gates and I recommended Nadella as Microsoft CEO: Ballmer

Microsoft's former CEO Steve Ballmer in an interview to Bloomberg said that he and company's Co-founder Bill Gates recommended Satya Nadella as the CEO and he's doing a great job. "I thought he was a candidate to replace me, which is why we moved him into his last job," he added. Notably, Microsoft's stock price has tripled under Nadella's leadership.
