Gauhati University enrolled 74,000 in 21 unapproved courses for 7 yrs
Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has said that the Gauhati University offered 21 unapproved courses through distance learning for seven years. The university collected ₹39 crore as fees from nearly 74,000 students and has put their careers at risk as their degrees aren't valid for jobs in central government services. The courses were offered from 2010-11 to 2016-17.
