Gays, transgenders & sex workers can't be allowed to donate blood: Centre to SC

The government cited expert committees in the Supreme Court to defend its 2017 guidelines to exclude gays, transgenders and female sex workers from donating blood. It said any dilution could "pose a serious risk to the safety and integrity of the national blood supply". The government reasoned that health of recipient is more important than a person's will to donate.
