General Dhiraj Seth takes charge as India's next Army Chief

General Dhiraj Seth has taken charge as India's next Chief of the Army Staff, following General Upendra Dwivedi's retirement from service on Tuesday. General Seth, who has a military career spanning nearly four decades, had been serving as the Vice Chief of the Army Staff since April 2026. He was appointed as Army Chief on June 13.
