General Motors to layoff about 500 to 600 IT workers: Report

General Motors is planning to cut about 500 to 600, or 10% jobs in its IT operations, largely in the US, the automaker told Bloomberg. We are transforming our IT organisation to better position the company for the future, General Motors told the news outlet. The firm employed about 68,000 workers globally, including 47,000 white-collar employees in the US.
