Geomagnetic storm likely to hit Earth on April 14 and 15

A huge amount of plasma heading towards Earth from the Sun is expected to hit the planet by Thursday. "G2 (Moderate) and G1 (Minor) geomagnetic storm watches are in effect for 14 and 15 April," tweeted Space Weather Prediction Center of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The Sun is experiencing increase in solar activity as part of its solar cycle.
