German Cabinet approves plan to ease path to citizenship

The German Cabinet has approved a proposal to ease the path to the country's citizenship. The proposed plan will allow for dual citizenship, simplify the naturalisation process and shorten the amount of time required before applying for citizenship from eight years to five years. The proposal must still be deliberated on by both houses of Parliament, DW reported.
