German man holds Guinness record for the largest mouth gape

Bernd Schmidt from Germany holds the Guinness World Record for the largest mouth gape, measuring 8.8 centimetres, just over the length of a baseball. He achieved the record in Wendlingen, Germany in January 2015. Bernd decided to attempt the record after his son showed him the same record listed in the 2015 edition of the Guinness World Records annual.
