German Parliament rejects vaccine mandate for people aged over 60

The German Parliament on Thursday rejected a proposal for a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for people aged over 60. The Bill was supported by Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Health Minister Karl Lauterbach. Out of 674 MPs, 378 voted against a vaccine mandate while 296 voted for it. A recent opinion poll showed that about 60% of Germans support a vaccine mandate.
