Germany destroys last batch of Libya's chemical weapons

Germany on Friday announced the destruction of the last batch of Libya's chemical weapons. It said nearly 500 tonnes of chemicals stemming from former Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi's chemical weapons programme had been destroyed in an environmentally sustainable manner. Libya had requested the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons for assistance in destroying the weapons.
