Germany recall 40-yr-old goalkeeper Manuel Neuer out of retirement for FIFA World Cup squad

Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann has recalled 40-year-old goalkeeper Manuel Neuer out of retirement for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Neuer had retired after the UEFA Euro 2024 but was included in Germany's squad for the upcoming tournament in Canada, Mexico and the United States. Neuer, who has represented Germany in 124 matches, is set to play his fifth World Cup.
