Germany records over 2 lakh COVID-19 cases in 1 day for first time

Germany reported over 2 lakh COVID-19 cases on Thursday for the first time since the pandemic began. As many as 2,03,136 new infections were recorded in the last 24 hours. The seven-day incidence rate rose to 1,017 cases per 1 lakh people. The total number of fatalities stood at 1,17,314.
