Giant sea scorpions, some as big as humans, lived 444 mn yrs ago

Paleontologists have discovered that giant sea scorpions, some as large as adult humans, existed 444 million years ago. These eurypterids likely grew large to aid in ocean migration. Environmental changes led to their extinction around 393 million years ago, leaving no trace of them since then. Their size once dominated ancient seas, researchers stated.
