Giant tortoise turns 50 in Australia, gets his favourite cake

Goliath, an Aldabra giant tortoise at Australia Zoo in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, turned 50 this week. Keepers prepared a tortoise-friendly cake made of watermelon, rockmelon, berries, carrot hearts and green bean "candles", which he enjoyed alongside his friend Jarvis. Aldabra giant tortoises are classified as vulnerable and are native to the Aldabra Atoll in the Seychelles.
