Girls are being subjected to 'breast ironing' in Africa

Breast ironing, also known as breast flattening, is a practice involving the pounding and massaging of a young girl's developing breasts with hard or heated objects. This practice is often performed by close female relatives. Primarily practised in Cameroon, breast ironing is rooted in the belief that delaying breast development can prevent girls from becoming targets of sexual predators.
