Gita Gopinath warns of oil shock if West Asia war drags

Top economist Gita Gopinath warned that a prolonged West Asia conflict could push oil prices to $120-$140 per barrel, hurting global growth and increasing economic risks. She said markets may be underestimating the danger of a longer war. Gopinath also backed RBI's handling of the rupee and stressed targeted support for vulnerable households.
