GitHub to lay off 10% of workforce, go fully remote
Microsoft-owned GitHub will cut 10% of its staff in the coming quarter and will also vacate its offices and become fully remote once their leases end, CEO Thomas Dohmke told staff on Thursday. The layoffs will reportedly affect 300 of GitHub's 3,000 employees. A spokesperson said the layoffs were part of changes aimed at protecting the business' "short-term health".
