Global economy heading for weakest growth in 33 years, warns IMF chief

The global economy is heading for the weakest period of growth since 1990, International Monetary Fund's (IMF) MD Kristalina Georgieva warned. The IMF projected global growth will remain around 3% over next five years, below the average of 3.8% from past two decades. "This makes it even harder to reduce poverty, heal the economic scars of COVID-19 crisis," Georgieva said.
