Global seed vault in Norway receives 60,000 seed samples

The global seed vault in Norway received 60,000 samples of seeds from across the globe, bringing the total number of seeds stored at the vault to 10.5 lakh, reports said. Stefan Schmitz, who manages the reserve as head of the Crop Trust, said that the vault was built to store seeds that are at the risk of extinction.
