In March 2010, an island in the Bay of Bengal disappeared due to global warming, settling a land dispute between India and Bangladesh. Known as the New Moore island in India, or the South Talpatti island in Bangladesh, the island emerged after the Bhola cyclone in 1970. The uninhabited island disappeared due to rising sea level caused by global warming.
