GM's Cruise to test fully driverless cars in California this yr

General Motors' Cruise has announced that it will begin testing its autonomous vehicles without a human backup by the end of the year in San Francisco, California. California's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has previously given similar permits to Waymo and Amazon's Zoox. Alibaba-backed AutoX had also received permit to begin driverless testing on public roads in California.
