Goa bans drinking in public & other activities, warns of fines of up to ₹50,000

Goa Tourism Department has banned several activities like driving vehicles on beaches, unauthorised hawking, touting, begging and drinking in tourist places, in a bid to refine tourism. Listing these activities as "nuisance", the state government stated that either an action under the Indian Penal Code or a fine of ₹5,000 to ₹50,000 would be imposed on the violators.
