Goa Constable suspended for pocketing ₹17lakh collected in fines

The Goa Police on Wednesday suspended a woman police constable for allegedly misappropriating ₹17.3 lakh in traffic fines over 11 months at Bicholim police station. The probe in the matter began after officials found inconsistencies between official bank deposit receipts and internal traffic police records. The amount has now been deposited in the government account.
