Gold, silver trade may cross ₹20,000 cr on Akshaya Tritiya despite high prices: CAIT

Akshaya Tritiya 2026 is set to deliver record-value sales of precious metals despite high gold and silver prices, with trade expected to exceed ₹20,000 crore, according to the Confederation of All India Traders. This marks a rise in trade compared to last year's estimated ₹16,000 crore. CAIT said the price surge is pushing consumers toward "more calculated and value-driven purchases".
