Gold bond investors to get 212% returns on early redemption

Reserve Bank of India has opened the early redemption window for Sovereign Gold Bond 2020-21 Series-VIII. The redemption price has been fixed at ₹16,012 per unit based on average gold prices from May 13-15, 2026. At this rate, a ₹1 lakh investment made in 2020 would be worth nearly ₹3.12 lakh, delivering returns of around 212%.
