Gold prices hit a six-year low on Wednesday amid the US dollar rising to a seven-month high against several currencies and expectations of an impending rate hike by United States Federal Reserve. Spot gold prices in India fluctuated around ₹25,100 per 10 gram. Prices of platinum also fell to a seven-year low. Silver dropped to a new two-and-a-half month low.
