Gold prices jump in India a day ahead of Dhanteras, silver also gets costlier
Gold prices rose ₹2,200 to ₹1,48,800 per 10 grams in Delhi on Thursday, a day ahead of Dhanteras, according to the All India Sarafa Association. Silver gained ₹1,500 to ₹1,94,500 per kg. Traders attributed the rise to increased purchases by jewellers, retailers and stockists ahead of the festival. Gold is now about 13% costlier than on Dhanteras last year.
