Goldman Sachs to pay Malaysia $3.9 bn to settle 1MDB probe

Malaysia has struck a deal to drop all charges against US investment bank Goldman Sachs in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal. The deal includes $2.5 billion in cash and a guarantee from the bank to return $1.4 billion in proceeds from 1MDB assets. "Today's settlement is an important step towards putting the 1MDB matter behind us," the bank said.
