Google Cloud rolls out Cloud Fraud Defense to replace CAPTCHA

Google Cloud has started rolling out a new verification system called Cloud Fraud Defense, replacing traditional CAPTCHA challenges on supported websites. Instead of image-recognition tasks or text-based tests to separate humans from bots, users are now shown a QR code that must be scanned using an Android phone with Google Play Services enabled. Google believes the new system reduces friction.
