Google completes $2.1 billion acquisition of Fitbit
Google on Thursday said it has completed the acquisition of Fitbit, over a year after the deal was first announced. The European Union, which approved the $2.1-billion deal in December, had raised concerns over Google’s market power and the use of people’s health data in targeted advertising. Fitbit Co-founder James Park reiterated today that Fitbit would continue to be device-agnostic.
