Google fined ₹4,400 crore in Ireland over location data use

Ireland's Data Protection Commission (DPC) has fined Google €403 million (over ₹4,400 crore) following an inquiry into its processing of location data. The regulator said Google's failures may have left individuals unaware that their location data was being used to influence them with ads. Google allegedly also retained users' location data for longer than necessary.
