Google launches its 8th-generation TPUs to power AI agents

Google unveiled the eighth generation of its custom Tensor Processor Units (TPUs) at Google Cloud Next event. The two chips, TPU 8t and TPU 8i, will power Google's custom-built supercomputers and enable autonomous AI agents to reason, plan and execute multi-step workflows. TPU 8t can reduce the frontier model development cycle from months to weeks, said Google.
