Google lays off around 100 employees across its Cloud unit

Google has laid off about 100 employees from its Cloud unit to prioritise artificial intelligence development and streamline operations, despite the Cloud unit's significant revenue and profit growth. The affected employees had recently worked on Google Cloud Next, the company's annual conference held in mid-April.
