Google once showed Kannada as 'ugliest language', triggered outrage

A 2021 search for "ugliest language in India" on Google showed Kannada, triggering outrage across Karnataka. The state government warned Google of a legal notice for insulting the 2,500-year-old language's heritage. The then Karnataka Minister for Kannada, Aravind Limbavali, reacted strongly and demanded an apology, to which Google said the search result did not reflect its opinion.
