Google open sources Gemma 4 AI models that outperform models 20x their size

Google open-sourced the Gemma 4 models, which it calls its "most intelligent" models yet. The models can run offline, even on users' mobile phones, write code, process video, audio and image files, and perform complex logic and agentic workflows, outperforming AI models 20x their size. Since the models are open source, programmers can even fine-tune them for specific tasks.
